Water Supply Project in the City of (Kiffa) from the Senegal River to Mauritania

Project Description

The project aims to alleviate the water shortage in Kiffa and nearby areas along the supply line to Goury. ECG is responsible for reviewing the technical specifications, drawings, and original documents for the five lots,
verifying their compliance with the project’s technical objectives, and completing any documents missing from the original study.

  • Lot (1), in Gouray City comprises a raw water intake on the Senegal River, a Raw Water Pumping Station
(PS0), preliminary basins for turbidity reduction, a Water Treatment Plant with a capacity of 50,000 m³/ day, a treated water reservoir (2 × 2,500 m³), a Treated Water Pumping Station (PS1), a SCADA system, pumped and gravity-fed transmission pipelines, ancillary buildings, the supply, transportation, and installation of about 0.5 km (DN400-DI) pipeline, and the implementation of distribution networks along the main transmission line, including the construction of elevated water tanks.
  • Lot (2), from Gouray to Selibabi City (PK07 to PK45), includes the supply, transport, and installation of 45 km (DN800 DI) gravity flow transmission pipelines; 1.0 km (DN400 DI) gravity pipelines; 43.5 km of secondary transmission networks using HDPE pipes with diameters from 90 mm to 200 mm; and distribution networks along the main transmission line, comprising 53.5 km of HDPE pipes with outer diameters ranging from 75 mm to 315 mm.
  • Lot (3), extending from Selibabi PK45 to PK130, includes Pumping Station SP2 and Storage Reservoir R2 with a capacity of 2 × 2,000 m³, a DN800 ductile iron discharge pipeline (58 km), feeder pipelines supplying the elevated tanks, and water distribution networks along the route between Pumping Station SP2 and Storage Reservoir R2.
  • Lot (4), extending from Selibabi PK130 to Tokankoussa City, includes a 70 km gravity-fed water transmission line (DN700 ductile iron), feeder lines supplying the elevated tanks, water distribution networks along the route between Reservoir R2 and Pumping Station SP3, and the construction, outfitting, and electrical connection of Pumping Station SP4 (5.4 m³/h, head of 55 meters).
  • Lot (5), extending from Kankoussa to Kiffa City, includes Pumping Station SP3 at kilometer point 170, Reservoir R3 at kilometer point 245, and water transmission and distribution networks along the route connecting these two structures.
