Water Lines for Construction Works & Irrigation at the New Administrative Capital, Egypt

Potable water supply to the new Administrative Capital depends on establishing a new water treatment plant (WTP) with a capacity of 2 million cubic meters to serve a population of 6 million inhabitants. However, as the construction of the new WTP can take 5 to 7 years, it was necessary to adopt an urgent and practical solution to fulfill the water demand for construction and irrigation works in the Administrative Capital.

The project comprises the following components:
1. Laying a water pipeline for construction works up until the construction of a WTP
    is completed.
2. Provision of irrigation water from the Orasqualia Wastewater Treatment Plant through
    a Samcrete pump with a capacity of 120,000 m3/day (1st Phase).

ECG’s scope covers the Basis of Design Report, detailed design, and tender documents.
