ECG Participates in Cairo ICT 2017 Smart Communities Event

Between 3 and 6 December 2017, the 21st Round of the international telecommunication, information technology, networking, computing, satellite, and broadcasting trade exhibition & forum Cairo ICT was held at Egypt’s brand-new venue “Egypt Exhibition Center” in New Cairo under the slogan “Expect the Unexpected.”

The yearly event covers exhibition, conference, consumer, and corporate activities, where participants and exhibitors can meet with clients from emerging markets to grasp new business opportunities.

Organized by Trade Fairs International, this round of the event was inaugurated under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi. Over the course of four days, it had a record 93,234 visitors who came face-to-face with more than 500 exhibitors from 16 countries.

The Cairo ICT 2017 incorporated four main events, including the 3rd Smart Communities Exhibition & Forum, which aims at discussing and showcasing cutting-edge technologies, real-world solutions, and proven strategies that need to be taken up by the real estate developers and governments seeking to build more sustainable cities.

ECG had a strong presence at both the conference and exhibition. On the third day, ECG Chairman Amr Allouba participated in a session themed to society innovation within the “Huawei Northern Africa Innovation Day: Enabling Digital Transformation.” During the session, Mr. Allouba participated in a discussed focused on innovation in education, finance, smart cities, and other sectors.

On the same day, ECG’s Urban Design & Landscape Department Manager Dr. Waleed Hussein took part in a discussion forum titled “Smart Cities: Not a Luxury for Tomorrow, but a Need for Today.” The forum was moderated by Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities & Urban Development Mr. Khaled Abbas.
