The network has a length of about 304,037 m and comprises 11,777 manholes. The commonly used pipe materials are HDPE, uPVC, and GRP with diameters ranging from 160 mm to 2,000 mm.

The network also includes GRP pressurized twin pipelines with a length of 12.769 km and diameters of 200, 1000, and 1200 mm. The sewage collected from B1 area is discharged via the pipelines from the Central Pumping Station (CPS) to Al-Ansab Sewage Treatment Plant before being reused for irrigation purposes.

Works include preparing systems’ design of CCTV manhole inspection for 500 manholes and CCTV/Sonar pipe inspection for a 3.5 km long pipeline with a diameter of 2,000 mm; in addition to salinity and flow/pressure measurements of the rising mains.

Scope of works covers the assessment of entire network’s current status and technical defects to develop rehabilitation/upgradation program; as well as preparation of the detailed concept design and rehabilitation methodology; in addition to preparation of detailed design and tender documents for Phase 1 only (as the rehabilitation program shall be divided into 3 or 4 phases) that includes all critical rehabilitation & upgradation of works needed to be carried out urgently encompassing the main trunk of 18th November Street sewer.
