Project Description
Al Aweer Power Plant will be revving up its performance by adding an extension to its ‘H’ Station.
The new project adds three turbines fueled completely with natural gas. These produce a total capacity of 800MW through a simple cycle power plant on turnkey basis and are equipped with the latest control systems and technologies designed to reduce emissions.
The new extension is expected to increase this capacity by adding three Class F gas turbines with dual fuel firing capability. The turbines are designed for indoor installation and will be capable of burning natural gas as primary fuel and diesel fuel oil (DFO) as back-up fuel. Each turbine will operate in a single (open) cycle mode.
The project will stretch over 60,000 m2 with a total built up area of about 17,350 m2 and will consist of 60 buildings and structures. These will include The Gas Turbines Building, Electric Buildings, Emergency Diesel Generator Building, in addition to supporting buildings such as, a workshop, a pump house, a compressed air building and more.
