Magna Break Pressure Tank (BPT) & Water Transmission Line
Project Description
The project is located on a site of approximately 18,000 m3 and includes a 7,000 m3 break pressure tank, a gravity water transmission pipeline of about 14.5 km in length and 800 mm diameter extending to the Magna reservoir, an access road approximately 1.4 km long, a 240 m2 control room, in addition to fences and gates.
The proposed Break Pressure Tank (BPT) site is situated roughly 20 km northeast of Magna and around 1 km south of Route 8746, at an approximate elevation of 265 m above sea level. From this location, the proposed pipeline and utility ducts will originate at the BPT and extend westward, following Route 8746 for approximately 14 km. Works cover the design of a proposed break pressure tank, along with the associated ancillary works, pipelines, chambers, control building, and access road. The scope also includes the concept design of all civil and electromechanical works related to the proposed pipeline conveyance system, utility culvert, and pumping station.
The project components are summarized as follows:
- Break Pressure Tank:
A break pressure tank (7,000 m3), including the installation of gravity supply pipelines from the BPT to the Magna Storage Reservoir (MSR).
- Transmission Water Line:
Approximately 14.5 km of 800 mm diameter buried water main conveying water from the BPT to the Magna Storage Reservoir connection point, including installation of valve chambers along the pipeline route.
- Access Road:
Approximately 1.4 km of new access road connecting Route 8746 to the proposed BPT site.
- Control Room:
A control building of approximately 280 m2, comprising a control room, battery room, laboratory, office, and welfare facilities in accordance with the provided drawings.
