ECG Leads Panel at Arab League’s Arab Sustainable Development Week under the Auspices of President El-Sisi

On 21 November 2018, ECG Vice President and EBA Sustainable Development Committee Chairperson Dr. Nevine Abdelkhalek actively participated in the Arab Sustainable Development Week held at the Arab League headquarters under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Dr. Abdelkhalek moderated the first panel on Day 3 under the banner “Corporate Citizenship & the Way towards Sustainable Growth.” The panel comprised prominent speakers, including the Chairman & ECO of Giza Systems Mr. Shehab El-Nawawi, Deputy Chairperson of Shell/Egypt Mr. Moataz Darwish, President of the Economic Council of Businesswomen Alexandria, Ms. Rim Siam, Chairman of the Egyptian Association for Mental Disabilities Ms. Amany Arafa, and the Chairman & CEO of CSR Egypt Mr. Hassan Moustafa.

During her participation in the Arab Sustainable Development Week, Dr. Abdelkhalek talked about ECG sustainable development practices, from design, to the preparation of youth, to the engineering marketplace, as the aforementioned are part of the Sustainable Development Agenda. She also addressed ECG’s corporate values that support the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and fulfill Egypt’s vision of Sustainable Development 2030, especially goal No. 9 on Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, goal No. 11 on Sustainable Cities & Communities, goal No. 5 on Gender Equality, Goal No. 4 of Quality Education, as well as Goal No. 17 that focuses on partnerships as means to the achievement of all respective goals.
