Credit Agricole Egypt (CAE) New Head Office Complex is planned to accommodate headquarters staff from different locations currently existing in central Cairo locations.
The new CAE Head Office Building is located on a plot area of 51,334 m2 in New Cairo. The project will be implemented on 50% of the area (26,667 m2), with a built up area of 42,000 m2. The building comprises two basements, ground floor, and three typical floors.
The building emerges from an oasis of palm trees. The strong, regular geometry of the building is contrasted by irregular shapes of the surrounding landscape elements, namely, the palm trees and large boulders.
The design intelligently uses the project site's natural slope, creating a semi-open garden floor. The building is divided into two above ground wings of three to four floors connected by a central hall with interior bridges. It occupies the site with highly developed building fronts, creating a campus atmosphere. A large unifying roof form provides the shade and protection to the entrance.
The building floors comprise retail branch; central reception; staff restaurant; kitchen facilities; board room; reception/meeting room; employee offices; training center; a 150-person auditorium; IT communication and data room; loading bay; security room and post room. The basement comprises gymnasium; two prayer rooms; maintenance room; first-aid room; and archiving area.
The Head Office Complex is designed to reach the required qualifications for LEED Gold Level (full LEED documentation was implemented, including feasibility studies, daylight simulation, etc...). This LEED rating means that the CAE Head Office Complex will earn over 60 points out of 100 points in different categories related to the green aspects of the building; i.e. water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials, resources and indoor environmental quality. Energy simulation model was developed to evaluate the building form and orientation in relation with the overall building energy efficiency.
To satisfy the needs of this particular project in terms of accurate modeling and coordination among different disciplines, ECG used Revit BIM Package throughout the design process, starting from the schematic design all through the design stages.
